In addition to our growing list of resources for our community (now posted here), below is a compiling of information, FAQ sheets, applications, and resources concerning the recently passed CARES Act. Find below breakdowns of the stimulus package, the government offered assistance, information on unemployment insurance and its expansion, and opportunities for self and community advocacy.

NYC Employee Retention Grant Program
Deadline: Tomorrow, Friday, April 3, 5 PM
To help small businesses deal with the impact of COVID-19, the City has launched the Employee Retention Grant Program to help retain employees as businesses face decreased revenue. This program is available to New York City businesses with one to four employees that can demonstrate at least a 25% decrease in revenue as a result of COVID-19. Eligible businesses will receive a grant covering up to 40% of their payroll for two months. Businesses can access up to $27,000. Learn More Here >>

SBA: Small Business Guidance and Loan Resources
An overview of the Small Business Administration COVID-19 loan options. Small businesses are encouraged to do their part to keep their employees, customers, and themselves healthy. EIDL applications are open now (see next section), and funds are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. PPP Loan applications open April 3. Learn More Here >> 

SBA: Economic Injury Disaster Loans and Loan Advance 
In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, small business owners in all U.S. states, Washington D.C., and territories are eligible to apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan advance of up to $10,000.

The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program provides small businesses with working capital loans of up to $2 million that can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing. The up to 10K loan advance will provide economic relief to businesses that are currently experiencing a temporary loss of revenue. Funds will be made available within three days of a successful application, and this loan advance will not have to be repaid. Application is open for small businesses of less than 500 employees, individuals who operate under a sole proprietorship, with or without employees, and independent contractors. Learn More Here >>

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)
Information on the upcoming Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), which provides payment to workers not traditionally eligible for unemployment benefits (self-employed, independent contractors, workers with limited work history, and others) who are unable to work as a direct result of the coronavirus public health emergency. Note: You must apply for and be denied regular Unemployment Benefits to be qualified for PUA. Learn More Here >>
