GLASS / The Fall 2016 Edition

The Fall 2016 edition of GLASS: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly (#144) is hitting newsstands and subscriber mailboxes next week. On the cover is a haunting work by Christina Bothwell that depicts girls brushing one another's hair in mixed-media works where glass is deployed in service of her central themes of transformation, interior worlds, and dreams.

Also in the new edition:

  • Contributing editor Victoria Josslin on the tenacious spirit of Stacey Neff, pursuing sculpture and sustainable glass in an unforgiving desert climate.
  • Artist and educator Alexander Rosenberg on an exhibition of artists responding to the din of the digital era featuring work by Megan Biddle, Amber Cowan, Jessica Jane Julius, and Sharyn O'Mara.
  • An excerpt from the eagerly-awaited new book by Koen Vanderstukken, which cuts a wide swatch through the history, science, and contemporary art world's embrace of glass.
  • All this, plus five reviews and a lively essay by glass fashion show diva Laura Donefer.
