Method for Proceeding

Press release

Method for Proceeding is a large sculpture installation which occupies the windows, walls and floor of the Riverside Galleries at Garrison Art Center, transforming the two galleries into spaces of spiritual stillness. The exhibition illustrates Henry Klimowicz’s devotional, longtime commitment to creating exquisite nature-inspired sculptures using the most ordinary of materials—cardboard. Throughout the exhibition, one encounters forms that harken towards something familiar and recognizable while stopping short of literal interpretations. In Klimowicz’s hands, humble cardboard is cut, bent, folded, shaped and glued as it passes from “trash to beauty.”
