New York State Of Mind No.29 / HornyHavana

I’m grateful to “HornyHavana” for the September 7th and 8th
Cachita-Regla’s extravaganza, featuring my “Virgin Boat No.47” from
‘La Virgen de la Caridad series’
and a detail of my “Notre Dame de L'Eau” ‘La Virgen de Regla/Yemayá’.

New York State of Mind No.28

Cepp Selgas / "Icon" / Enamel on lead / 18X18X3ins. - 1999-2013 (Mercedes Mestre Collection)

Back in 1999, when I was working on a series of ‘Saints’ on folded paper, I decided to ‘play’ with these two square of flat pieces of lead, same way I was doing with paper.  Since I was not able to figured-out an easy way to connect both pieces, I abandoned the project and rolled it like an ancient papyrus scroll, put it away and forgot the whole matter.
I didn’t realize when I was moving out to my new place mid-2012, the ‘scroll’ was left behind in a hidden conner of a closet.  A week after, the forgotten piece was found and brought to my attention by someone very close to a famous cuban art collector, with a surprising question... -Would you mind if I show this to Mercedes Mestre?

Not at all…lucky me!

New York State of Mind No.15 / In Search of Myself...

On the Net I found This...

...The number 47 of of my "Virgin-Boat"series. It was my homage to Pope John Paul II' pastoral visit to Cuba in 1998. Love it!...but the whole mystery about 'hornyhavana' still going on.

New York State of Mind No.14 / In Search of Myself...

...On the Net, I found this:
Even though, I'm still confused by this "hornyhavana" site.  Meaning…what (the hell) is the whole thing  about!.
Few days ago I saw one of my "Cachitas" here.  And because today is 'Her Day'  and she was the favorite of 22 visitors then...'today'... A Cachita le da la gana!

Los juegos prohibidos de Oshún / At Zoé

http://zoevaldes.net/2012/09/07/yalodde-virgen-de-la-caridad-del-cobre-los-juegos-prohibidos-de-oshun-cepp-selgas/

Sincretismo a pulso.
