TWO CUBANS IN LONDON: Carmen Herrera and Ernesto Briel first exhibited together in the Fall of 1992 in an exhibition titled DUO GEO at Jadite Galleries in New York City, invited by gallery director Roland Sainz. 

Twenty years later, in the Fall of 2017, the two are having solo-shows in London: Carmen Herrera at Lisson Gallery and Ernesto Briel at S|2 Gallery [Sotheby's]. Two fabulous, "not-to-miss" shows in the bustling capital of the United Kingdom.

This November S|2 London presents two solo exhibitions. In Gallery 1 there will be an exhibition of large scale paintings, as well as studies and drawings, from the sixties by British Painter, Tess Jaray. For over five decades, Jaray has explored the geometry of space within our natural world.
Born in 1943, Cuban artist Ernesto Briel found inspiration in Optical Art amidst the constraints and limitations of his native country in the two decades following the triumph of the Cuban revolution. Gallery 2 will show his works from the sixties and seventies.

DES-ART-CHIVANDO:
Debido a que el pollo prohibido de “Evo” es todo un “hit” en el Internet y en el mundo no-virtual (sólo comparado con la famosísima manzana prohibida de “Eva”) he apelado a publicar hoy esta imagen blanco y negro de mi único “cuadro-con-pollo”, que yo recuerde. Y que dicho sea de paso, mi único cuadro en Sotheby’s y en la colección Kellogg's, que yo recuerde.
